View Full Version : Unable to place a 16x16 house next to a Gazebo?

Any reason for this? I had a 24x24 and a 16x16 next to each other in Nuimari, demolished both, built my gazebo on the 24x24 and was unable to place a 16x16 house next to it, but was able to build it about 20 yards away, and was still able to place a 16x16 scarecrow in the proposed house's spot.

Anyone else seen anything like this?

It's been stated quite a few times around the forums that the dimensions for the 24x farm is off. It is apparently 25x24.

That has nothing to do with this. I can place a 16x16 scarecrow fine on the proposed land, but I cannot place a 16x16 Tudor house on the exact same piece of land, but can place it on another piece of land I own 20 or so yards away.

Then I do not know what to tell you. It's either a fallacy on your part or the dimensions of the house is wonky too. Those are the only two obvious answers. I mean you can wait for a GM, if they ever get around to it.

Sometimes you gotta play with house rotation to be able to fit them on some spots, especially on slopes.

Anyway, there's multiple threads pointing that gazebo farms have odd dimensions. Should probably get looked at by XL.

If you can put a farm on it, that really sounds like the game is interpreting the plot as having a bad slope or incline. The land geometry selection for a house is very unforgiving.

It's completely flat ground. The dots don't even change from red to white when I try to place the 16x16 house on the plot, so I can't alter the positioning of the house.

There you can see my gazebo, then to its left is the temporary scarecrow farm I have holding that spot, and further to the left in the distance you can see the house I placed to save that spot. Trying to get that house to where the scarecrow farm is what I am trying to do, but the game won't let me for some reason. I've tried with multiple 16x16 houses.

try to rotate it, see if it helps

I cannot even place the house, therefore I cannot rotate it at all.

Yes you can place a building and rotate it .. You can place them over current buildings ! If people did this they would see the Gazebo is smaller than a thatched! so where the 25x24 comes from I don't know.

For sure though, on quite a few plots I had to place (red) and rotate to certain position before it would let me build!

Im curious about the 25x24 as well as i placed my gazebo over my thatched and i would estimate the gazebo is actually 23x23. It looks like if it was 24x24 i would be able to fit 6 more cedars on it for 44 cedars at a time instead of 38.

More or less confirmed that it's not the gazebo that's preventing me from placing the house on that land, it's the actual land itself (even though it looks completely and utterly flat). My neighbor in-game said he had tried to put a house in that exact spot months ago and was unable to as well, so just seems like terrible coding.

Looks to me like it's smaller.
