Like the title asks, can you guys give us access to embed videos in our posts? I mostly want to embed guild videos in my recruitment thread (several videos from Rift too oh snap!). Would be awesome if we could be allowed the ability to embed those awesome videos instead of posting ugly links.

Any chance this can happen?

Please...

:o

Seriously, I would love you long time.

I just saw the TMNT thread has an embeded video... Am I just doing it wrong or can we only embed videos in the Off Topic forum?

A test, for science!

Hmmm... Still just an HTML link. What gives?

Scapes mentions something about BBCode here ... in the post where he's embedded a video:

Hmm. I am using BBcode. I saw that someone posted a video in another thread also but I can't figure it out. Their embed option doesn't work either. Very odd. User error I assume on my part. I shall figure it out.

Your BBCode is incorrect

To post a video, you need to manually enter the code in the format as follows (with the appropriate brackets at the start and end),

video=youtube;nCjsWpM9zFU]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCjsWpM9zFU[/video

Or you can use the film-strip button to automatically format your video URL (located at the top of the advanced posting box next to the quote bubble and the image frame). Sometimes this is a little buggy, but it should work.

I figured it out, thanks Stroh! I have been using the film-strip button, but that also was not working. After I removed the "s" from https it worked fine. I guess you can't embed using a secure URL? Either way, it works now. Thanks! Feel free to delete this thread, heh.
