As an archer either PvE and / or PvP you should focus on getting Agility, it is your main source of damage. Builds PvE and PvP in an archer does not have many changes, if you're "Primeval" can change some points to another skill on the same branch as "Meditate" to regenerate mana, as a "Trickster" can use Play Dead or focus on Witchcraft for passive 8 points "Baleful Recharge", as Stone Arrow to change some points in some additional buffs branch of Defense such as "Toughen", "Revitalizing Cheer".In general they are not big changes.

Optional PvE:

Stone Arrow: http://archeagedatabase.net/us/calc/318900
Trickster: http://archeagedatabase.net/us/calc/318902

I hope will be helpful :)

What type of gems for a pve archer? For Armor and Bow / Dagger...

the same you would use in PvP:

You can obtain the NPC Collector Honor point.

Gale Lunagem: Flexibility (Resilience, critical decrease rates and critical damage bonus you get)

Earth Lunagem: Mastery (Toughness, decrease damage you take from a target phisical or magic)

Those gems are practically mandatory in your final set or a set that you will use for quite some time.

in the other pieces you can buy in AH or crafting with a Lunagems Handicraft physical or magical defense depending on your priority. To see them click "O (folio)" and Lunagem write, you'll see a variety of gems that you can add to your set, weapons, instruments.

Get Witchcraft for farming. Baleful Recharge is huge, and Play Dead comes in handy for reducing downtime as well. Play Trickster (Archery/Shadowplay/Witchcraft) for a general build, or Arcane Hunter (Archery/Auramancy/Witchcraft) if you want full farm / anti-mage archer. Best to kill things you can kite so you won't need health regen, but if you do find yourself running down on health too often, you have three options:

Magic weapon -> Trickster or Arcane Hunter are fine with Enervate + Earthen Grip combo to recover health
Healing weapon -> Soulbow (Archery/Vitalism/Witchcraft), take Painful Recharge and you can just eat hits
Physical weapon -> Archon (Archery/Defense/Witchcraft) will have the most health regen abilities that don't require a particular weapon type

If you just want a general PvE build for all tasks, Arcane Hunter is good, and you can also try Oracle (Archery/Auramancy/Vitalism). Oracle is a hybrid DPS/healer.
