I am currently playing as 2H Gladiator(Click here for my current build (www.archeage-impact.de/index.php?site=talentplaner_eng&action=jumpIn&talents=011101001001101112010111010110001130000100 110010000)). I am thinking of switching to shield for a bit more CC. But I'm not sure.

I'm kind of not sure how well my build will work. It works alright as long as I can get the drop on my enemy, but I have difficulty otherwise. Of course, I'm only level 40 at the moment and it's not complete yet.

My Rush + 1 click of tripple blow + Phantom Blow from behind combo does 2500 or so damage in a couple of second at the moment. Then, if I have 2000-3000 rage built up, I can usually finish off the enemy with just a Scream of Pain and a Whirlwind. As you might imagine, however, that can be difficult to set up in some situations :P

I'm thinking of removing Force Field from the build and putting the point in Rage (I actually have a point in rage at the moment, tho I haven't tried using it much yet). I'm interested in Rage as it seems like if I can get enough stacks, I can probably nearly one-hit someone with a crit with Phantom Blow. At a minimum, with enough stacks from Rage, I can add a lot more DPS. Or maybe putting it in Wing of Defense. Honestly not sure and would appreciate any input.

I'm guessing you're thinking PvP here.
Get calling and drop fortification - instant win :p

Personally I don't like the "Pull over" skill, it can be fun, but I'm not a big fan of casting timers as Melee.

You should probably remove "Armsman" since you use 2h weapons. And rather get "Prestidigtation" (Man, these translations lol).
Also hammer of wrath is kinda useless in Pvp, since you need the target to stand still for it to actually work well.
Same with "Scream of life" , it's a nifty little skill ,but useless in PvP.
(Useless means there are other things you could have gotten instead, that helps More then what they're doing for you atm)

Other then that I haven't played around with the Will tree much to tell you anything there.

I've personally tried this build in RU but i wasn't satisfied with the offensiveness. This build has so few attacks, only Combat skill tree was not enough for me. But if you have healer and some other attacker friends, this build will work pretty well in small scaled fights.

I am currently aiming for Predator. Combat/Calling/Fortification.

And @Majiinfreddy Pull Over is a good skill! :D

Let me be frank, your build is not the greatest. This is not because you're a bad theorycrafter but you're just lacking general knowledge about that game. Most successful ArcheAge builds specialize in 1-2 things specific. The way the class system work doesn't allow you to have a class who is too well rounded. Your build is basically a tanky bruiser who doesn't have a lot of dmg and is not very tanky neither. Although, with a bit of optimization you can become a real tanky bruiser who works like a juggernaut.

This is my take on it:

Soldier (www.archeage-impact.de/index.php?site=talentplaner_eng&action=jumpIn&talents=011111000011100113001010011100010021110001 000100110)

It doesn't have the best dmg output but with a long CC chain, you can lock down squishy until they're beaten to dead. You can also draw out the fight with your invulnerability to all type of dmgs, until your CDs come up.

Right build (www.archeage-impact.de/index.php?site=talentplaner_eng&action=jumpIn&talents=011111000001101113001010010101000020100011 101100011)
My friend played as gladiator, and he said. I have shield only against archers to use blockade.

The class is a tank archetype by not using the block passives you have already defeated the purpose of using Protection. Also, Prestidigitation is an incredible skill when combined with
Turning Blades providing both defense and offense. Leaving it out when maining Assault is a poor choice. Painkiller is also a stable for any class that has Will. The build is lacking in both defense and offense. No build is the Right Build but that build is sub-optimal.

Thank you, everyone, for the replies.

Sekkusu, would it not be a bit better to work Phantomblow into the build? Whenever it crits (which is almost 100% of the time when I'm behind the target, which isn't too hard to achieve) it will cut my opponents HP down by 50-70% in a single blow.

Also, which type of weapon would you suggest? One-handed blade for the +Agil?

That depends on you. The reason why I don't like it coz it discontinue your CC chain and the dmg is very unreliable. The crit percentage is ony 50%. But it's just a personal thing. You can tinker with the build to your liking.
