We have to say, it was an extremely tough call yet again for the society. There were many, many beautiful photos submitted for the contest, and we as the judging squad were ripped in many different directions. Everyone who submitted a photo -- thank you -- your work was absolutely beautiful and we hope to see you in the Society's next contest once again! Now, beyond that, we see in the recent comments that there are some people who are unhappy with one of the decisions -- the inclusion of the mansion/restaurant. That photo scored extremely high on shot composition and creativity, but it did score low on theme because it didn't fully match the theme of the contest. There were some wisps of spring (namely the plants) but it didn't fully embrace the garden idea. However, that was enough to still put it into the top 10, even with the marks against it. (A reminder, theme only accounts for 25 points of the total score, while creativity counts for 50 points, and originality accounts for 25 points, as outlined in the rules (http://forums.archeagegame.com/showthread.php?321006).)We know that may be a disappointment to some of you, but we've tried to be as fair as possible about the contest. It's tough. You guys always give us a lot to think about, and a series of many shots to love. We also understand that much of photography and art is in the eye of the beholder, so we know that we may not always agree with one another going into the contest. But, that shouldn't take away from any of the work folks did here. The time and effort you all put in shows, and you will all get a participation prize for today regardless!
