The forum came and warned you?

1) You probably listed the person by name which you cannot do

2) Scamming is permitted in game.

Indeed. More players should read the FAQ at

http://www.archeagegame.com/en/faq/

especially the following section, over and over. Could reduce the amount of useless threads on these forums by at least 50%

Are players allowed to scam other players in-game in ArcheAge?
Yes. ArcheAge is a highly competitive PvP game and skullduggery will be a weapon of choice just as sharp as a sword (and possibly even more potent).

That the game allows cheat as an element of "life" in the game it does not mean that we, the players we can not warn each other. It would be helpful to have a list on the forum.

1. Do not attack others. A few examples of typical attacks that are not allowed are:•Insults (against individuals, groups, companies, or countries)
•Comments that attack or disparage a Race/Ethnicity/Nationality/Religious Belief/Political Affiliation/Gender/Sexual Orientation or Identity
•Harassment
•Naming/Accusing/Calling out: Do not name specific individuals and accuse them of wrongdoing. Also do not call out specific individuals (including members of the Development Team).
•Posting Provocatively: While we frequently have strong opinions, it is important to phrase things in a manner that is as constructive as possible.
•No Threats Allowed. This includes both physical threats and threats of legal action.

In cases where moderator action is required, moderators may edit, move, or delete posts containing violations of the forum rules. Moderators may warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts from posting on the forum in question. These actions will be based on both the frequency of required moderation for a specific user and the specific rules violation in question. In extreme cases, action may be taken against game accounts for forum violations.

My guess is the OP named names in his scam warning (wouldn't be much of a warning otherwise, to be honest) on the forums, and had the thread deleted via a forum mod. The forum rules pretty specifically say you can't do it and that the moderators can punish you for it, but few people ever actually read the rules.

If you really want to call attention to the scammer, shout it in Faction chat so that everyone knows.

Actually, posting the method of scamming on this forum without naming the scammer goes a long way to inform other players of their trickery.

But naming and shaming has the advantage of payback. And that too is a game feature.
