GTX 570 HD

Anyone else having a video halt - screen goes a random color - audio can be still be heard - before halting the system. Tried old drivers - tried new drivers - AA is off - PCI Link State Power Management is Off - DX9 is On.

I can stress test the ♥♥♥♥ out of my system to problem and no other problems on any other game I own with settings at Max. This leads me to believe it is a AA specific issue that is causing the crash. Went to get some up to date monitoring logs but now my server is under maintenance.

Anyone else experiencing this?

1) Could you check if your card have bulges on capacitors? (Cryengine is heavier on gpu than most of games) / or maybe some leaked?
2) When your system enters halt; does it gives any BSOD? Event Viewr > Programs\System > Error logs?

2) When your system enters halt; does it gives any BSOD? Event Viewr > Programs\System > Error logs?

1) I can pull it out and take a look - the card is brand new, less than a month old (warranty replacement)

2) No BSOD or crash message - The screen changes to a random pastel color, audio plays for 15 - 30 seconds then the system hangs and I usually just power cycle it before it reboots, doesn't always recover correctly after one of these crashes. Nothing in Windows Event log - just a system warning that the last shutdown was unexpected and the system rebooted without shutting down - kinda useless since I knew that (Edit: As of this evening, these were not present yesterday, I am getting new warnings about my nvidia driver not responding and recovering - and a new warning I have not seen before this evening "Application archeage.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware." - researching that one now.

I also have a gtx 570 and get similar issues. I think a lot of the people with 570s are having trouble

Yea I also have a 570 GTX and crash. Changing graphics settings seem not to really affect it.

also to make sure its not related to AA only, could you download cryengine 3 sdk? Just run demo they have there.

Thanks

It is very possibly a CryEngine 3 issue - I don't have any other games other than AA that uses this engine - giving the SDK demo a shot.

CryEngine3 demo runs like a charm at Max settings, ran around for a good 30 minutes or so. Leaning back towards its something in AA its self. Gonna run AA and crab a log from this morning.

I'll just keep troubleshooting. I opened a support ticket but who knows when I will hear anything and even if I do will the blame not be passed on to my system/hardware.

BSOD
Locale ID:1033
seemingly random, played for hours today until getting to the first city for the east faction about 20 minutes of running around in there it started and crashes almost immediately when I log in.
Yet I've run another character through there with no problems /shrug

tried playing with some TDR registry settings to no avail
hardware and file systems checked out okay
Game isn't worth the time/effort to start playing with down/over clocking settings. It's the only one giving problems

Having the same issue here with a GT 640. I get a perfect 60+ fps at my settings, no real stutters or anything then randomly my screen will freeze, and the sound will continue to play until I use task manager to force close the game. Sometimes this force restarts my system, other times it doesn't.

Allowing MSE, disabling CUDA, changing PHYX, removing MSE completely, none of these has fixed the freeze issue.

I downgraded to Nvidia 340.43 (http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/76513/en-us) (Note this is a link to 64 bit drivers) - do a clean install - and was able to play with no issue for the last 30 minutes or so - unfortunately have to run do some things but I will come back tonight and try some more.

I tried that earlier but it didn't help. I had another crash after an hour.

A post from another thread seems to have solved the issue for me, though.

Go to NVIDIA control panel
under 3D settings go to "Manage 3D settings"
And again under there find the setting "Power management mode
Set this to:""Prefer maximum performance"

Try a older version of driver and try, 570 has a bit of years... With older drivers will run fine, remember, all the "crashes" isnt from the game, bad drivers will do

While true I should be able to duplicate this issue on another game or with another application - and I cannot.

I'm having very similar issues with AMD Radeon R9 270X
game keeps getting stuck on random colors, last sound keeps replaying on cca 1s or shorter loop, ends with reset or BSOD
crash intervals used to be random, now are almost instant
no issues with other games, no overheating (below 65 degrees C), new computer (less than month)

I have a gtx 780 and on low settings dx9 and my fps goes from 30-70-60-80-25 in pvp arenas this constant graphical lag is ridiculous. Oh ya if you don't have a memory cleaner to help with the memory leak this game has it will usually crash you because of a massive memory overload. Also with the new version of nVidia drivers 344.11 I was lagging even worse so I rolled back to 340.52 and this is the type of crap this game is throwing at me. As of now the rage level of being a darkrunner in pvp is sooo high i'm not going to play anymore until this issue is fixed.

Trion does not have the ability to make these changes - this lies with XLGames apparently who own the code/wrote it whatever - from what I have gathered. Trion is required to request fixes from them. Testing and gathering info to hopefully either help someone else fix an issue or in the less likely case one of these companies representatives takes a look.

Same exact issue. EVGA GTX 570 HD. Every single other game I run on my computer max settings... I have a 4930k i7 3.4GHz (6 core hyper-threaded) processor and 16 GB Ram. Archeage runs like butter when it actually runs.. lately I havent even been able to log into my character for more then 2 seconds before a full system crash.

I have tried everything possibly you can try, including all Trion's "fixes" for crashing. Just finished a complete reinstall and the issue persists. No clue what to do so I will continue to follow this because it seems to be the only source of other people with the exact same problem

Everyone! After trying every possible thing to make my NVIDIA GTX570HD Not crash my Computer, I finally have found something that seems to be a solution to our problem. I haven't a clue why this works but it did for me for the past 5 hours.

MSI Afterburner. Go download it.
http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

Once you get into the program UNDERCLOCK both your CORE CLOCK and your MEMORY CLOCK by about 100... (take it down 100 from where its at)

ALSO, make sure your GPU Temperature is staying below 80C .. if you have to turn your fan up do so.

I tried in the past Underclocking just my core, but that didnt work it seems to be mainly the fact that with Afterburner you can reduce your Memory clock as well.

I really hope this helps others out.. as I was about to throw the game away forever.

I will definitely give this a try. I run MSI Afterburner for logging and had adjusted my fan curve thinking maybe the card was overheating (not the case) but I hadn't thought of underclocking the card. Will do so tonight and let you know. I too am about to give up on the game - this is AA specific - played anotehr CryEngine 3 game last night without any issue.

680 GTX here. Sometimes I can go hours without it happening (and instead, I start to lose texture quality until everything is just polygons), and other times it happens frequently. It seems to be the worst during peak times, though that could just be a coincidence.

I tried the Manage 3D Settings and the MSI Afterburner as suggested in this thread. No luck. :( However, when I have this issue, the driver (and thus my game) crashes. I thankfully do not experience any system crashes. Hopefully XLGames and Trion can solve this one soon.

Try completely uninstalling your video drivers and use Dplay Driver Uninstall (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) to ensure everything is gone then install the most recent drivers.

When I first underclocked I had the same results as previously mentioned. Did a complete driver clean and re-install and so far no crashes *fingers crossed*

GTX 570 - Same problem (Screens go black, audio continues to play slightly, monitors go to sleep, audio stops playing, have to reboot)

I have tried bumping the voltage of the card up as one recommendation said to. I have tried underclocking the card slightly as another recommendation suggested. I have tried limiting my FPS to 45FPS as yet another recommendation has suggested. None of these suggestions has had any effect on the issue.

It seems to be completely random as to whether or not it'll happen. Lastnight Archeage crashed my PC, requiring a hard reboot of the system, more than a half dozen times before I was finally able to get it to let me in without crashing. Once I was in I was able to play for nearly 6 hours without issue. Today, however, I've already had Archeage crash my PC twice within a 10 minute time span.

Quite literally it goes like this: Boot up, log in to Glyph, load Archeage, select server, select character, load into game, take a few steps, PC crashes.

I know for a fact that my GPU isn't overheating since, while monitoring the GPU temp with MSI Afterburner, the temperature doesn't even have a chance to climb 5 Degrees from 60C to 65C before the PC crashes. I know it's not my CPU overheating since, while monitoring CPU temp with Chill Control, the temp doesn't climb any higher than 35-40C.

This seems to be an issue, predominantly, with the Nvidia GTX 570 and 570HD from what I can see.

I'm almost to the point where I'm going to give up altogether. It's just not worth the frustration, even having spent money on the game and the fact that I'm saying this is frustrating in and of itself since I really like the game, when I'm able to actually play it.

Yep, this has been happening since I started playing this game.. same gcard, 570, same problem exactly. I have been able to play for like hours and hours but it never fails that sooner or later it will do it..
today however, its been 2 steps then i crash over and over. I finally got on for about an hour and a half to stand around and chat with my guild and harvest my crap on low settings.

I was close to picking up a new graphics card tonight thinking all this was my gcard deciding to explode. I've not tried all of this stuff yet but I'm going to because this is unplayable. 1 time my pc got so screwed up by the crash that I had to restore it to an earlier boot just so it would come on. It pops up and says the nvidia driver has stopped responding and has recovered sometimes and lets me keep going but today its been crash after crash within seconds of play. I cut off everything and went to low just to get myself the hour and a half to get my logs.. dont know if the low settings even helped. My pc is an 8 core with 8 gigs of memory and windows 7 and I can't think of anything else I have opted to run on less than high settings ever.

Having the same issue but with my gtx 770. Played 20+ hours when all of a sudden the screen went black and pc froze. Now anytime I try to open it, it will play the intro then the screen will go black and the pc restart. Mine issue has morphed a step further though, anytime I have Glyph + Archeage installed, my computer will freeze randomly every few minutes, even if I don't launch it, play it, etc. When I have them installed, I also can't play any other games without them black screen/freezing at the start. I've re installed it 5-6 times, re installed my graphics drivers 5-6 times, reinstalled Windows 8 twice and even tried Windows 7.

I only have one clue to go on now, this happens in the event log when my pc crashes:
The Service KMSELDI service terminated unexpectedly.

Literally been working on this all day without a solution, but narrowed it down a ton. It has to be a Glyph problem.

Yeah im having similar issues.
GTX 760 here, tired drivers version 340.52 and 344.11. It happens with both, but seems to happen more frequently with the new ones.

Recently i got a new bug, which bugs out the the 3D engine, but keeps the interface and menus untouched: 4250
Sound keeps playing, but its impossble to move the mouse or close any windows. Abilitys still work, but if you do a backflip, this happens: 4251

Be very careful guys. It could very well comes from a PSU outvoltage due to Archeage putting a heavy load on almost everypiece of hardware it can: CPU, GPU, Memory, HD.
If that's the case it can damage some of your hardware, especially memory and GPU. The two posts above mine tends to point into that direction, with damaged hardware components. The fact that underlocking your card, and thus its power consumption, seems to work could also be a hint.

I am unable to find any stress tester which would put enough pieces under load to reproduce the crash, if anyone has a good one please link it. Because if it does come from PSU i wanna avoid as much as possible playing this game again until i get a new one.

GTX 670 here, 2 crashes since yesterday (could run it straight for 10 hours before that).

Edit: my crashes do not come from overheating, 2nd crash happened in windowed mode with both CPU and GPU monitarized and below 60C

I recommend those still having issues do a driver wipe and a fresh install of the newest drivers. Since I have performed that maintenance I have been able to play AA for hours when previously I could not play more than 2 minutes at a time.

"Try completely uninstalling your video drivers and use Display Driver Uninstall (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/...-download.html) to ensure everything is gone then install the most recent drivers. "

Figured out that KMSELDI is related to KMSpico. (Windows Activation) (Don't judge me)

Going to try reinstalling that and see if it helps, but honestly think they're unreleated. Just 'terminates unexpectedly' because the PC crashed.

Also trying the complete GPU drivers wipe and will update.

Windows Activation shouldn't have any effect on this - I haven't activated my copy yet either...I'm too lazy to go dig out my activation number.

I have a similar issue. My PC has two 780ti's. It doesn't go a random color, however the game does entirely freeze up - Generally only happens in PVP for me but it has on small, rare occasions happened elsewhere. I've talked to tech support and they've been ♥♥♥ useless, telling me to update drivers, close background services, update DirectX, etc. Please. Like I haven't done that already.

Game client visually freezes. I say visually because the sound does keep playing. It's not a hardware issue. My PC destroys the recommended specs for this game.
It's not a software issue on my end. I've tried configuring the Nvidia options every which way, I've tried Dx9 and Dx11. Disabled SLI, enabled SLI, doesn't matter. Still happens regardless.

It's something on Archeage's end. At least in my case. Don't know if it's true for everyone. It's not related to the stress the game causes on your GPU though, I can promise you that, because my GPU's can run Archeage on 1/4 of their capable clock speed (340 ish mhz is enough to maintain 144 fps even in housing district).

Hope some of this information helps you fix your issue, if it doesn't, then sorry for wasting your time with my words. :(

Hi guys just adding weight. This exact same bug ruined my headstart. I opened a ticket to trion they just resolved it without even contacting me after 15 days.

Some days i get a good few hours then just repeated crashes. Other days it crashes repeatedly till i clean wipe my nivida drivers and start over again.

Once this crash happens its a full system lock up that only a power cycle can fix.

So I received this email this morning - the only email I have gotten from Trion support since the confirmation email that my question has been received.

"We have not heard from you concerning your request for support in the 72 hours since we sent a response. Consequently, we have changed the status of your question to SOLVED. "

How was I supposed to know anything? I gave up days ago checking the ticket status daily.

Try the following program: Display Driver Uninstaller DDU (build 13.4.0.0) from guru3d.com (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html)

It will clear your system from all installed graphics drivers before reinstalling fresh new drivers*. So you can say that fresh new drivers are installed, to rule them out.

*Make sure that you download the latest drivers first ;)

Thank you for the suggestion but if you read this thread I have already been recommending that to people :p - As someone else here pointed running MSI Afterburner and underclocking the GPU and Ram I have able to run the application but I usually get to OVERclock and run games just fine - there is an issue with AA its self.

More marveling at the fact there was no indication/notification my ticket had finally been looked at and then it was marked "Solved" - as if someone was just trying to clean up ticket queues.

Shame on me, I missed that post but found it now :( If you suspect AA did you check in the Nvidia control panel, if that one is being managed by the application? For some reason Nvidia has the habit to interfer with the application and just overrules it with its own settings.

I used to have this with other games and after I changed it to "Managed by application", the games were running fine again.

BTW - I'm using a 560 GTX on DX11 and settings set to high. (might however lower it a little as it sometimes plays up)

No worries - it is a good suggestion!

Correct - have modified those settings in the NControl Panel as well as making sure my PCIe slot was given adequate power and was not managed.

With the above mentioned underclocking, using DX9 currently, I am able to play just fine on the highest settings with a little slow down in heavily populated areas - changing the way names are displayed helped with that a lot as well.

Very strange thing going on there! May be there is something in the source what causes graphic memory leaks but again, why are only some people having it then. We can unfortunately only speculate and have to leave it with the devs.

Hope÷fully they'll find the problem soon and fix it with the next patch.

Both my other half and I are experiencing similar problems with our rigs (her's has a 560 Ti and mine has a 670). The problem manifests itself in a few ways. Either a complete lockup of the game graphics with sound still persisting (usually fixed with a Ctrl-Alt-Del and Task Manager to stop ArcheAge). It also manifests itself with graphic corruptions that seem to depend on which way the toon is facing. The screen can go all white, all black, black and white and with background graphics overlaying the foreground. At this point it's unplayable and dropping to desktop with Alt-Tab and returning seems to reset it successfully.

Like your problems this happened almost immediately and every few minutes with the new GeForce drivers (344.11) so I rolled back to the previous drivers (340.52) which reduces the frequency of experiencing this. However, two separate machines with two different cards, both NVidia having the same problems, seems to indicate an issue with the the way the game uses the drivers or a problem with the drivers

Just received this email reply:

"Hello!

Thank you for contacting us regarding ArcheAge.

Thank you very much for your report and I apologize for the inconvenience that NVidia Crash has caused. I've investigated this issue thoroughly and it should be working correctly now. Good luck and have fun in ArcheAge.

If you have any additional questions or concerns then please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you for your continued support of Trion Worlds and for playing ArcheAge. Your reference number for this question is 140927-003140

Sincerely,"

So you thoroughly changed the game code to prevent this? Really? For reals?! Why do I feel this is a generic cut/paste reply? I mean "NVidia Crash" was my ticket title. I bet had I put "Hairy Balls Plopped Menacingly on a Table Inc " as my ticket title that's what would have been pasted in there....I'm tempted to do so now.
