    AA population waning yet again?

It certainly feels like the population of the game has been declining since about a week after 2.0 was released.

Forum posts are down, twitch views are really low, and the game just feels like it has stagnated.

What are your thoughts & what can be done to keep people playing?

Pic for some evidence, AA as a search term overlayed with Steam user data.

Google searches aren't relative to population. Do you go and google 'archeage' daily..? No.. That's simply an insight into possible 'new players,' not active players.

ArcheAge is at a high right now, especially compared to last year where the population was about half what it currently is.

    I think you are baiting.

I constantly see new people in the game.

Yeah, comparing a search trend to population numbers doesn't really tell you much, and there's very low correlation. Elder players rarely Google search for information -- they either already know where to get it, are the ones figuring it out, or know where to find news on their game. Of course, we do not release population numbers, so I turn to a similar comparison: EVE Online.

By this chart and the same methodology, EVE's number should be equal to 2005 levels:

    https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=eve%20online

Yet, EVE's reported concurrency numbers on Tranquility are solid. Down in the last year, sure, but not at 2005 levels.

Again, using Google Trends as a measuring stick of population doesn't tell you much.

ArcheAge's population is constantly declining, but of course Trion would never admit that.

from my empirical observation - yes, declining for sure. guild lose players to other games. more and more lands stays empty. my estimation, its a matter of months when these lands become empty as were before merge. then, next merge.
