    Pretty much- the important thing here is that many guard NPCs and objects such as cannons and Guards were created and balanced back when level 50 was maximum level, and Ayanad didn't even exist.

    When level 55 came out XL Games did some rebalancing around guards, but they need to look again balancing guardian NPCs around the current standards, equipment (with Ayanad and Erenor released), and meta (With abyssal/ancestral skills, and the power of damage absorb builds), and while this might not apply to fresh start servers yet it will eventually and still affects Legacy servers greatly.

    you shouldn’t be farming in DS anyway

    hiram drops more out of DS (muzzy pretty much confirmed this)

    and there’s way more cloak mobs in heed/exe/sungold/nui/marc/calm than in DS

    upping the power of DS cannons will just make east and west factions kite to their cannons more

    If you want to farm safely, dont farm in popular conflict zones. Cannons don't matter, the higher geared players are incentived to go kill you there. You'd have to remove the incentives of conflict and war to change that.

    Why shouldn't low levels farm DS?, DS has loadstones that's purpose was to offer protection and now they don't because they're power hasn't followed gear /level progression.

    Cannot farm those area's due to the fact most/all are owned by PN's and offer no protection at all.

    Why should they not kite back to their cannons?, that's your safety zone, your rally point. What's the point in having a rally point if you cant rally due to the fact you have no protection?.

    The area's with the load stones aren't really popular conflict area's as on our server its mostly the shore side of the library. Between the nui and the lib, which going back to the "kite back to cannons" is really the same thing (take damage-kite to nui or lib).

    The high GS are going into those area's because they know they can kill a low gs without any threat to themselves.

    This post was about the lack of power/protection the loadstones/cannons offer. If they cant up the power then remove them as they now serve no purpose.

    Best that can be done is making those cannon and lodestone damages scale with target hp, a certain % with out armor effect to anyone and make them always hit, not evadeable nor blockable

    I mean, let's be real here

    The cannons are actually useless regardless how much damage they do. I can run through cannons on bridges on a mount without any speed boosts and take no damage, and they're so easy to dodge if you're not CC'd.

    See I don't mind that you can avoid them with a mount, But people shouldn't be able to tank the damage so easily.
