If they wanted taxes and land holding to be an issue preventing people from hoarding they could just break the NA/EU account link... instantly taxes actually become expensive rather than a few silver.
Oh, of course, if you want to have large holdings under those circumstances, alt accounts is the way to go. But the changes in land use also make it less desirable to have a lot of property.

The recipe for crafting tax certs has changes in a future patch too; it will require actual materials rather than only labor. I wonder what the effect of that will be.

erm I guess there is an exception to that rule?

    Alts aren't breaking the rules.
No one is saying anyone is breaking rules. Just that the rules should be changed.
As in, You are limited to maybe 3 structures per player. Regardless of alts. Whether or not those 3 structures are huge 44's or 28's is a diff story.

That would actually make things worse, since it would provide additional incentive to have more accounts. It's not practical (maybe not even possible) to detect which accounts are alt accounts with reasonable certainty, so there is no feasible way to limit the number of buildings on a per-player basis.

Any one remember how hard it was to find a 8x8 spot in the good old days?
There is still plenty of free land around, maybe not on the spot you want. But auroria have land. There is land on the islands in the water and i still see free land on haranya and nuia.
You just need to explore the map

The "space farms" (solar for example) alone are 5 properties, with no tax penalties, a plaza makes 6, possible stellar 8x8 makes 7. By anyones logic of having only 3 properties or less, you have basically stated that they should CHEAT their customers out of farms purchased with IRL money, gilda, and credits/gold, to limit land, solely for a few 16s here or there for the average new player.

Heres what I find funny.. you have 4 different forms of "Farm availability" being Guild-shared, family-owned, public owned, and npc/community owned lands available in most regions. These options allow any non-land or home owner to use most, if not all functions, of land ownership.

They put clear objects in place, for you to be able to grow mats and make gold, even before you manage to buy a house and/or farm on your own. The housing in this game is profitable, and nothing profitable tends to ever be given free. You have to work towards it, or get lucky and find it where no one else noticed.

Many of us land barons actually like to bring our lands to life, through decore, organized farming, and community building with fellow barons and friends.

You have plenty of FREE land to build your income and one day build your own home, but if you refuse to use it, simply because it isnt truly yours to own, thats your own business. (Community lots prevent other players from harvesting your crops for a significant amount of time btw)

And alts... you must realize that even if they did prevent more than one account on at one time, you can still use said accounts to hold land... its exactly how it worked in open beta and launch. You would be in the same situation, but have nothing to put blame on aside from that tryhard potato switching between accounts to upkeep multiple buildings and farms. That is all.

but what do you want? the best places on the map? you had to have entered first that is part of the real economy of the world, a plot in a good area with good view, good fertile land, in trade routes are expensive, this is a capitalist game like in certain countries of real life , although sometimes it paints "a socialism" xD, but yes, better zones - high costs.
