Lightbulb Feedback on Artistry in Unchained

    Instrument Issues/Suggestions:

    - There is currently no known way to obtain the instruments that were previously obtainable from the Loyalty shop. (Banjo, Shamisen, Autumn Wind Horn, Ironsong Lute, Evensong Lute, Catspaw Recorder, Reedwhisper Piccolo, Stormwail Saxophone).

    - The Orgel is an instrument that has existed in the Korean version of the game for quite some time but has only ever existed as a decoration in NA/EU. We feel it should be added to our version of the game as well.

    - Event Instruments that were obtained from previous seasonal festivals are not going to be available in Unchained for quite some time, we hope to see them returned in events throughout the year?

    - There is no form of portable drum that is currently playable with sheet music, which we would like to see for traveling band ensembles.

Addendum #1 - Housing instruments should have the option to be summonable in the same way an anywhere warehouse or mailbox is.

    Quality of Life/UI Changes

    - Giving sheet music it's own tab instead of being listed under "Toy".

    - Being able to preview the songs in the auction house before purchase.

    - Being able to sort by author in the auction house.

    - Increased note limit for Famed rank artistry from 5k to 10k to accommodate the new 10 track limit.

    - Making green quality sheet music or higher should give increased proficiency gain compared to basic music sheets.

Addendum#2 - The ability to play N notes (Which are standard in other forms of MML such as in Mabinogi) would greatly help in making compositions more compact.

i would like to see those instruments as well. i used to do a bunch of music stuff in mabinogi and enjoyed making the mml scrolls there, was sad to see all the diff instruments missing in our unchained version
i like alot of those suggestions as well tho some might be hard for them to implement

    - Since the arena shop in PTS is not available, It is unknown if the honor/kyrios badge instruments are still obtainable this way (Anthem of Battlerage, Dirge of Occultism, Ballad of Auramancy, March of Defense, Croon of Shadowplay, Aria of Archery, Ode to Vitalism, Dance of Songcraft, Nocturne of Witchcraft).

Arena shop IS available, you just need to be proper level for it. Once you can open your "Insance" button there is an arena shop on bottom left corner. So please do not spread false info

Secondary, is this topic even serious?

I wasn't aware and will correct this info for the post, thank you.

There is no need to be rude about it. There are people who enjoy this part of the game, just because you don't doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

Last I checked the Arena shop only had the instruments that were themed on the different skillsets so his query still applies. If nothing else add all the instruments that don't have stats on them to the credit portion of the marketplace so we don't have to wait for an event to get them or regret missing a instrument that was available for a limited window.

Secondly just because you don't enjoy the Artistry system in the game doesn't mean their aren't a lot of others that do.

I too would like to see increased XP gain from grand-arcane music sheets as well considering the materials increase drastically for them but I don't see that being implemented anytime soon.

10k sheets would be a welcome addition but it would be hard to share music out in the world with someone doing a 8 minute Aria every time. Maplestory 2 was a prime example of that with people playing over each other in the open world from being impatient.

    Opinions of a Famed artist

I am a Famed Artist on Denestrious, and would like to weigh in on this topic.
Old Loyalty instruments, and Festival instruments are a MUST!! A fair amount of people really want to see these instruments implemented very soon. My biggest push would be for 10k sheets, or even 25k sheets for 230k prof so we can make 1 sheet for 1 song.

Removing the countdown from the Ensemble party would be very nice If you have multiple sheets to play since we are limited to a mere 5k its very annoying to have to wait another 5 seconds just to start the 2nd sheet.

I agree with the OP on all accounts.

    Especially:

    - Please give us stat-less instruments with all the sounds to buy for diligence and/or credits.

    - A preview function for songs in the auction house would be extremely helpful to sell them and build a reputation, as would a search/sort function by seller.

also id would say we need LONGER titles for music sheets

I am going to reply here about n notes specifically.

n notes should not be a priority to add to archeage for the following reasons.

n notes are not part of the base MML specification and are a extension that is pretty much only used in Mabinogi.

Although a lot of transcribers use 3mle to create MML for archeage, Mabinogi MML has another key difference, it is an octave lower than archeage for the same frequency. (Middle C in AA is O5c, Middle C in Mabinogi is O4c). This creates an issue if you attempt to use 3mle's optimizer for Archeage as the n notes will be all off by one octave and would have to manually be corrected. Meaning any potential gain in using the n notes with current tools would be just as time consuming as manually optimizing. Obviously better tools can be developed but that's that. If better tools are developed for AA specifically then following the base MML specification is preferred anyway and the optimizer can just ignore n notes entirely.

And the final reason is difficulty on XL's part. Its far easier to add 100 characters to sheet length than it is to support n notes. Note that with n notes <b-> saves you 1 character, and <<b>> 2 and o1b-o5 3 (please note that it will never save more than 3, due to the O control character). Usually you are dealing with 30 or so optimizations a track and if you average that out thats only 60 chars saved per track at best. These small savings do not really matter if the sheet length is just extended.

Also keep in mind with up to 10 tracks now, its easier to avoid major octave jumps all together.

also ++ On longer titles for music sheets.
