Gamigo making AAU P2W in violation of the stated game rules

    From the AAQ FAQ:

In ArcheAge: Unchained there is no longer a subscription model. With a one-time purchase, you can enjoy the content as often as you want.
Clearly this is false, since we now have to PURCHASE a DLC to enjoy content

    From the AAU release announcement:
All players will have the same chance to craft and earn the most powerful weapons and equipment through gameplay.
This is clearly false. You now have to P2W to get the best gear, and ONLY players who P2W have access to the best gear.

    DLC is not subscription.
DLC is not p2w. Its simple one time static and limited content. You buy rights to use new contents.

But this is dirty business practice and it changes starting conditions. We bought AAU to get all contents without any additional costs. DLC is additional cost and it's not optional when you can farm stronger gear only in that DLC.

i totally agree with you my friend this is another cheap method to steal ppls money,as they know they dont deserve them.
Game is full of bugs, it crashes radomly we keep playing it because we love it and bought it under the turns you mentioned as we dont have to p2w anymore and now they are puting the new patch as dlc. The problem is if you dont buy it you will definelty not be competative so with a one-time purchase, we definelty can't enjoy the content as often as we want.
Dont buy that and dont support this terrific way to steal ppls money they will adopt this method on any future content.
I belive this is the perfect time to quit the game once forever.

dlc could be a new race, but never a content that is promised to be free for all, and in our case dlc is fkn p2w

They've even admitted in discord that this is not what they had sold people on.

    Hello everyone,
We understand the concerns being raised about the access price for the exciting upcoming ArcheAge: Garden of the Gods expansion. It has become increasingly challenging to continue delivering the Unchained version of the game and remain as true to our pillars of fair-to-play as possible. We strongly believe in the Unchained brand and considered many ways to address this challenge. Multiple approaches were discussed internally and ultimately we decided on charging a low global access fee for new upcoming large updates instead of selling items that potentially impact gameplay progression in the marketplace.

We know there are mixed opinions about this, specifically related to our previous commitment around charging one price to access existing ArcheAge content when Unchained released last October 2019. For the past 8 months this declaration has been fulfilled. Now we introduce new content in the form of a DLC expansion and we greatly appreciate everyone’s continued support. Without the dedication of our Unchained players, we would have never been able to make this version a reality.

    Thank you.
    -The ArcheAge Team

It seems this game is doomed to always managed by deceiving lying scumbags, can't explain it other way, no matter what the name of the publishing company is the people who get their hands on this game end up following the same scummy practices over & over again, they first appear on those who might be interested but because they have been deceived in the past they are hard to convince, so they try anything they can to make them trust them & of their pure intentions.. & when they manage to get them on board & steal their money then they reveal their true face & repeat the same thing all over again but this time trying to hit on new preys as those are fresh & there is more juice there for them to squeeze, those people are seriously irredeemable they feel no shame & it become more than obvious that you can't trust a single word that comes out of their mouths as like a second nature for them.

    How the DLC isn't p2w ?
If you don't paid the DLC, you cannot get T5 Hiram, T3 Erenor, T3 Library (dungeon will be inside the garden), new buff, new potion etc...

You LITERALLY paid to get a better gear... This is p2w.

One time limited cost to buy DLC/ expansion or periodic static cost of services (subscription) is not "P2W". That is the default settings of business model. You can say its expensive and its not fair, but it's not p2w.

Another instance where Gamigo stated unequivocally that new content would not be charged for with AAU:
