Should stolen trade goods be split 60/40% ?

This decimates the risk vs reward system of the game.

What's the point of amassing a group of people to embark on a massive trade expedition if you can just drop it half way to some pirates and still get 40% for less than half the effort?

What's the point of PIRATING if you split it with your victim.

I strongly agree! This type of system is a mockery to sandbox... as a merchant when traveling the seas for profit, you should always pay attention towards pirate activities and be forewarn of the risks of sailing troubled waters. If you got attacked by pirate AND LOST against pirates, all of your goods are sunk, and your ♥♥♥ is in a row boat or in a raft, or your forced to be part of the pirate crew.

These people need to learn some piracy aspects in Sid Meier's: Pirates!, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, EVE Online, and other games that allows you to become a pirate.

What does a private have to lose for being a private as compare to being a trader? Is it really fair for traders to take the risk, while privates live a simple live?

I'm sorry but are you lost? We are not in Ultime Online age anymore. Stop trying to bring back that age, the general populace outrank and outnumber you. If there's a lot of carebears, so be it, TRION and XLGames favor the majority. However, we can always agree on 85% loot and 15% take back as it seems reasonable.
Anyways, this isn't the age of pure-hardcore pvp anymore, the dev and publisher cater what the games need the most, that is a healthy population and I don't think many people will stay after they are constantly camped whilst you, all, thrive. Nope, go back to the old games or ride along the revolution.

If they carebear this game up like they did with open world pvp (read gutting any plans they had to make it exciting) in rift, ill do exactly what I did with rift. Not play it after beta.
