all is lost... all is gained.
Yes
No
all is lost... all is gained.
Exactly. This is the kind of stuff that should be utilized to not lose your goods. 60/40 is unnecessary and just plain bad.
Yes that is the point of risk. Risk shouldn't be negated to hand-hold people, it will only serve to casualize the game.
I like this idea a lot better than the magical 40% reimbursement.
Taking what i said out of Context are we now? i would never try to take a Long Route if i there was the rist of 100/0 i would ALWAYS wait or try to hire a Escort rather then going by myself.. im pretty sure XLgame even tried it at 100/0 in the beginning days of AA(?) and they changed it to 60/40 Because of the backlash from the community
Highlighted text is exactly how it is supposed to be. You seem pretty adamant regarding this so I won't try to persuade you anymore and regarding your last point one can obviously see that the EU/NA community is against this feature, regardless of what the KR community feels (even though I really doubt they are happy with this feature).
i still think that chaning it to 100/0 would be a dumb idea and will make it a LOT harder for Pirates to steal stuff since everyone will want Escorts and not TAKE the Risk of going by them self you would need huge guilds of pirates to even be able to steal a small amount of trade goods this way..
All or nothing for sure...
If cant handle the loss dont take the gamble
But that isn't how things work... as I noted before:
You can't expect to get 100% of the retail value of good stolen. For the Trader, even if the routes are super profitable, there is very little incentive then to trade along a route open to piracy if there isn't some insurance against theft. That insurance shouldn't be free, and it shouldn't cover the full cost of goods, but it should be something to help keep them in the business otherwise the pirates lose out as well. I agree there should be no odd 40% keeping of the goods, you get gold mailed to you, after a certain amount of in game time, via insurance worth say 20% of the value of goods stolen, the pirate meanwhile gets either 80-90% of the goods, or all the goods but can only sell them for 80-90% of their value, whichever works best to simulate the fact that the stolen goods have less value, giving the pirate just 80-90% of the goods (at full value) is easier to program and doesn't require tracking each good and flagging it stolen, then fenced and then clean.
i know there will be people taking the Risk but there will be a lot of people also not wanting to take the Risk and you got to have it balanced.. and just imagine this then lets say its 100/0.. most people would want escorts lets say 2-3 Galion? then the pirates would need at least 4-5 Galion which means whole guilds would need to go over to being pirates and being pirates.. isnt really that profitable in the long run since everyone will be able to kill you easily.. and it would be hard for you to keep supply up for Ships Ect if they get destroyed and you cant Visit anyone on the 2 main islands so you would only have the pirate island and the north one which probably big guild communities will own so you wont be able to do much there either..
