Khorlan said in last livestream: no plan to do merge. Maybe they will change the plan later if the balance/population will be bad, but servers are "fine" now.

    Or just i misunderstood something.

This no plan means more than 3-6 months = not in 2016. If the game need merge that will be good to do in patch 3.0 because we will get many new lands. More lands + more players = less "lost" lands. This means no patch 3.0 in 2016 (?). They plan to start fresh server(s), but no scheduled starting time yet or no "calendar". = they will start to do it after summer maybe and we will get in "old" or in "new" patch. No decision yet.

MMos have to offer good game for all gamer types. If one of the groups become too strong that is not good for the game and for other players. We need "carebears", killers and other gamers too.
But idk... I don't think trino has real options to detect "sick" servers. They (devs and publishers) see only numbers. Players (accounts), used lands... But we have some bad regional effects. Multiaccounts, labor slaves... This "players" don't make game better. This accounts and alts only "problems" in the system. Ok, getting 2-100x more resources than "Normal" players is nice, but this option give back fake user datas. Trino watch the user numbers: oh, fine. We have many players. Yeah, just 50% are labor slaves, alts or multiaccounts, 30% have no lands and they will leave the game... Or something similar. This "fake" population hide the problems. But this is not ON topic. No chance to get changes in account policy in old servers. And no merge in this year. End of the story..

Naah mate, if you disagree with Disaster, you don't know anthing, rofl...

On a serious note, as a player on both NA (sadly I happen to witness all Disaster toxicity on factionchat since I have a char on Ollo) and EU I know for sure that Trion makes a lot of money from alt accounts so I don't think Trion will ever change this. And even if they do, the amount of people quitting would be too huge I'm afraid.

Account policy change or change of "core" account mechanism in old servers is not real option. New servers have chance to get something other solutions. Real changes or just "cosmetic fixes" (alias fresh server = new account but all other factors stay unchanged). But korean AA has PvP server too with some server special rules so we have chance to get bigger changes too... in other parts of the game. No safe housing area in PvP zone will strike back.

You really are delusional. Just utterly, hopelessly delusional. Honestly there's no way other way I can put it. You are infuriatingly clueless, yet also confident in your misguided beliefs.

At what point have you offered any constructive suggestions in this entire thread? Didn't we just go over this a few pages ago, about how all you do is throw out passive aggressive statements yet offer up no suggestions. Look honestly at this point it's clear I'm debating with someone who arguably doesn't even play the game so after this I'm done. I know Khrolan has a pretty good feel for the game and what ArcheAge is "about" so I'm fairly sure when he reads through this thread he'll have some well informed opinions from a lot of people who play this game and then he will have bunnyleptic's opinion which will immediately go in to the dumpster and be set on fire (metaphorically speaking of course). Good day to you.

Here we have it folks, the culmination of Bunnyleptic's incredible advice. If one just sits in town and leaves all end-game content alone, this will bring servers back to their former glory.

Hey it doesn't make any sense but it surely will work.

But thats just the thing pooper not everyone is going to DO endgame content, sure a lot will dabble, but not everyone will be a SRS BSNSS pvper. Hell i've been here since alpha and i can count on my hand how many "dailies" and events i actually attend, I mean sure i'll still do RD, anthalon, sieges etc as work schedule permits, but theres a healthy contigent out there, playing this sandpark game that dont like being TOLD how to play and what to do and rather be left alone to their own devices.

There is no one way to play this game, remember it requires ALL types of players to function, NOT just PVPers. So it has to hit a balance between PVP happiness and "potato" happiness and strike chords in between as well.

you cant FORCE people to do things in this game bottom line.

I mean, ya I agree with everything you said. merge will be with 3.0 almost assuredly. But also, Khrolan stated merges will come. It was typical Trion answer. "We have no plans to do it but it will eventually happen down the road" was basically exactly what he said.. so he can appease to everyone with his answer, lol.

But ya they think servers are healthy because of ppl with 10 alt patron accounts ( some ppl actually have this many and more ) and all the land they hold up on a single character. Oh hey Ollo has lots of land filled up and look at how many accounts logged in to it this week! It's really healthy. NOT. Like I said before, I'd wager Ollo has fewer than 200 unique players logged in the game during much of the dead hours. Maybe 400 during prime time? That isn't healthy.

I think there was some context lost between what I quoted and what was said before it so let me back track..

Disaster member posts screenshot of free farming on Ollo. Screenshot of them turning in idk, 200 abyssal packs. He says this is not healthy for the game, a guild shouldn't have this much control, we are making way too much gold.

Bunnyleptic steps in with some incredible advice "if you don't want free farm why don't you stop doing it".

If that seems like a logical conclusion to anyone that guilds should simply just log out and NOT do the content in the game, well then this community has bigger issues than I thought.

In my opinion the problem with Ollo isn't that there aren't players who are interested in doing Abyssal it's there aren't players on the server period.. Most people love doing Abyssal granted they have the time to do it. I've said it before here and elsewhere, I think the VAST majority of the players do PvP and PvE , farm and potato, go to raids when they can, they do a little bit of everything. This includes Abyssal, Mistmerrow, all that stuff. So when events happen on Ollo and NOBODY shows up anywhere to me that says.. hey maybe this server is not doing so great population wise.

Look u take one server and make it the "RP" server and u go there and like idk whatever the hell get free exclusive plushies for being there, and it's the place for RP'ers to play
You take another server and make it the "PvP" server and u go there and get extra honor, longer war zones, perhaps housing zone pvp enabled again. Whatever that will attract PvP'ers.
Maybe make one server an oceanic server or something

They don't need to be game changing adjustments, just incentives to go do whatever it is you want to do. You do that to like 4 out of the 9 servers and then let people transfer to where they want to go and do what they want to do. I predict in a year we will effectively merged servers without actually merging them.
I am all for them adding incentives to different servers to encourage different play styles. I also wouldn't have a problem with them doing that and then letting the servers naturally become what they will and merging the ones that die out. I am however completely against another forced merge fiasco like the first one which did not solve anything then and will not solve anything now. This thread has been pushing for forced merges. If you want to suggest that incentives are given to make specific servers the go to server for certain playstyles and let the migrations happen naturally then we are not really in disagreement.

Yes I do in fact have an opinion about everything. Thanks for asking.

Game mechanics and boss mechanics are not the same thing.

Game mechanics are a very complex topic. While they have been only superficially discussed in this thread, they are the heart and core of the game's current health problems. Relevant game mechanics include:

    *gold generation/inflation:
By the way, this problem is not limited to end game content; hauler trains (made by questionable use of the follow function) also contribute, as well as many other factors

    *casino-inspired regrade system:
This has resulted in a large gear gap. Even more importantly, the sheer stupidity of the system has been pissing people off for 2 years, driving them from the game in hordes.

*excessive multi-accounting in a game that was designed for single accounts:
This practice is rendering many of the game's mechanics pointless. A big problem, but at this time too established to be properly cured. Also legally impossible to fix in our regions.

*cross-region alts; shared credits and separated labor pool:
A blessing and a curse. It could be argued that the ability to farm Apex in the other region is one of the few things keeping people playing. But it also devalues labor, leading to massive gold production through hauler trains and coin purses. Also leads to price dumping on the AH, because people don't care wether their silver/labor ratio on that server is crap - thereby making things hard for the people who actually live on the server, as their labor gets equally devalued.

The list could be continued, but I'll leave it like this for now.

Boss mechanics, on the other hand, are completely irrelevant to this discussion. The health of the Leviathan does not determine the health of a server, and the distance to a DGS is no reliable unit to measure the need for merges.

Nice try though. You have just completed the achievement "Forsaken by Finesse: suffer a catastrophic smokescreen failure." Collect 50 merit badges. Gratz.
