Just want to leave this here so ppl know what this game is about :)

    First of all, I am 100% f2p

I own 18 accounts ( 2 stipends each ) and 4 of them are patrons

So, This month's crafting was like this:

~500k labor used in total for reforging, material crafting, weapon/armor/accessories

~50k gold used for buying materials, starter wisps etc

Result : 1 ayanad meadow necklace, zero ayanad weapons , zero delph/ayanad shirts

    Am I pissed? slightly...
    Am I sad? abit...
    Am I quiting? nah...

I make 30-70k gold/month depending on my real life schedule... Not the best gold but it's surely alot more than what the average player out there can make.

So what worries me is this: How on earth the random casual guy out there is going to keep playing the game?

PS: It's not a /cry thread, it is an awareness thread

PS2: Share your "success" stories so we can all make fun of each-other (constructively always)

I look at it much simpler than that and I think everyone should....

Do you have fun when you login and play?

If you do, keep playing, if you don't find a game that you do find fun. Everything in between is fluff.

That's exactly what I go by ... am I having fun? yes, yes I am (keep playing)

If I ever get to the point where I'm not having fun, then i'll stop playing.

Imagine what what the game feels like to a newer player that has just reached 55. There's a mountain in front of him that is nothing but sheer cliffs. It's the gear wall. There's no easy route to catch up. In six months time this player can hopefully stop getting one shot by 7k gs players, and a year down the road he or she might even get a few hits in before going down.

I run a single account currently. I ran 4 back at launch before I took an extended break from the game back in december 2014.

Having seen both ends of the spectrum: I actually vastly prefer running a single account. There's less hassle, less stress, and more time to just play the game. I still make 3-5k gold a week just fishing, doing traderuns, and salvaging ancient shipwrecks. Yeah, that puts me at 12-20kg a month which is WAY below yours, and I won't gear as fast, but I'm actually having a lot of fun doing it.

That "mountain" of goals is half the fun imo.

That's it. You nailed it. I'm having a blast but make nowhere near the gold the OP makes. I have my little bits of land, I craft a bit, I run a few packs, hang with guildies running dungeons, and generally have fun every single time I login. ArcheAge to me is more than just pvp. It's fun and as long as it continues to be fun, I'm all in.

There's no denying a catchup factor if your primary focus is PVP and wanting to survive. However, if you focus on the many, many other aspects of this game, most "doors" are still open to you.

I started an alt that reached 55 and has been playing with the apoth house making potions and food. It's a whole new world to me and I'm having lots of fun. Making my own Nui Novas, growing the right mats, selling them...all fun to me.

So the crafting system is the worst thing ever happened to be called "crafting" - itīs rolling dice, nothing more. Youīd spent your time better in a real world casino.

Itīs been a dumpster quality game mechanic from the start, only designed to inspire spending money on the cash shop like so many other of AAs core game mechanics.

    But thatīs all nothing new.
